Here is my latest mobile install, the 2008 Dodge Caliber!

I started with the antenna and mount, the mount is pretty simple, just an NMO hole mount in the center of the roof. The car came with the NMO mount already installed as well as a power cord and ignition sense lead for a Motorola radio tucked up under the dash, i just re-used them.

The coax and power wiring was all left tucked up under the dash, all i had to do was pull it all down!

The radio was mounted under the front passenger seat to make use of the existing wiring. The only changes i made was to use the ignition sense lead to switch a relay to turn the radio on and off and i cut off the mini-uhf on the coax and replaced it with a crimped on standard UHF connector.

On to the control head! All i used was the factory seperation bracket and some 3M VHB tape to mount it in the small compartment on the dash, i pulled out the panel and drilled a small hole in the back end of the compartment to run the control cable to the radio. I also mounted the Garmin Nuvi GPS while i also had it apart, tucking the power cable for it behind the dash trim panel to keep it out of sight and out of the way. The mic hangup was also left by the previous installer so i made use of that as well! It was definitely convenient having most of the work already done this time!
